Grace Gillibrand
Rehab Assistant
Where are you from?
I am from Leigh, Greater Manchester.
Where did you study/ work previously?
I have previously worked in a variety of different roles from youth engagement to employment specialist. I have also worked as a self-employed OT assistant.
What is a typical day at MTS like for you?
A typical day in my role is dynamic and ever-changing — no two days are the same. We often spend full days with clients, supporting them across various environments and assisting with a wide range of administrative and practical tasks. This variety is what makes the role so engaging and fulfilling.
What’s the best thing about your role?
One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is the opportunity to work with such a diverse group of individuals, from clients to multidisciplinary professionals. Supporting people as they work toward greater independence following a traumatic brain injury (TBI) is not only deeply meaningful, but also a genuine privilege.
What do you consider is your biggest achievement within your role?
My greatest achievement lies in helping clients who have felt disheartened by their injuries shift their mindset, enabling them to recognise and achieve goals they may have once thought were out of reach. Witnessing that transformation is incredibly powerful and reinforces the impact of this work.
