Supporting young people to Thrive

Welcome to Thrive, an Occupational Therapy service that provides assessments and personalised strategies to support your child or young person.

We focus on understanding how they experience the world and supporting them to develop the skills they need for everyday life.

Qualified.
Professional.
Trained.

The heart of our approach

We believe every child deserves to feel capable, understood, and valued. Our role is to help them Thrive by:

• Assessing their needs and abilities

• Building on their strengths

• Reducing barriers

• Supporting their independence

• Helping them feel good about who they are

How we can support your child

ADHD Assessments

We are trained and certified in assessing and diagnosing ADHD using the Young Diva. This is a Gold standard* assessment which considers how a child:

•
Manages school and homework.
•
Organises tasks and activities.
•
Is able to focus and follow instruction.

The goal isn’t to label a child, but to understand their strengths, challenges, and unique way of thinking. This helps families, schools, and professionals know how best to support them.

Autism Assessments

We are trained and certified in assessment using the ADOS-2. This is a Gold standard* assessment which considers how a child:

• Communicates and interacts with others.
• Plays, learns and manages daily routines.
• Responds to sensory experiences
like noise, touch or movement.

The goal isn’t to label a child, but to understand their strengths, challenges, and unique way of thinking. This helps families, schools, and professionals know how best to support them.

Support for Developmental
Coordination Disorder (DCD)

For children who struggle with coordination, movement or practical tasks, we carry out standardised and non standardised assessment which considers how a child:

• Uses fine motor skills (e.g. writing, using cutlery, fastening buttons).
• Uses gross motor skills (e.g. balance, running, catching).
• Is affected in terms of confidence and independence.

We then create a plan to help them build skills in a way that is achievable and supports their skills development at school and home.

*As a Gold Standard service we follow NICE Guidelines and NHS standards to ensure we are giving your child the correct assessment and treatment.
